Description of the Project:

The main aim of the project was the socio-economic upgrading of the territories connected to the past and present extraction and manufacturing of iron, as well as the exchange of experiences between different European partners for the purpose of identifying and experimenting common solutions aimed at upgrading, enhancing, managing and promoting disused mines.



Technical-scientific activities carried out:

Identification, analysis and census of the document-sources of the mining site of Raibl. Analysis of the settlement typologies of the mining village of Raibl – Cave del Predil – and identification of the traditional architectural settlement characteristics to be preserved when re-converting the buildings and the public spaces. Carrying out of a feasibility plan for the transformation of the mining site in a museum site to be used for educational purposes. Planning a thematic course for carrying out the Raibl pilot project.
